  5. Open the "envelope" and erase the diagonals with an eraser.
  6. Gather the envelope by folding the protruding edge of the lower triangle inward - it should be flush with the center. Glue around the perimeter of the bottom triangle. Tip - it is better to use a glue stick. From it, the paper will not swell and change shape.

Workshops on making an envelope from A4 sheet

Master classes are more than just diagrams. This is already a visual representation of what can be done with a sheet of A4 paper in real life. In addition, master classes will tell you how to decorate the resulting envelope in an original way.

To cover all areas, we decided to present master classes on the implementation different types envelopes from a sheet of A4 paper, depending on their purpose.

So let's get started!

Paper money envelope

One of the most important uses of an envelope is as a gift to a friend, loved one or even a colleague. We usually put money in such envelopes, accompanying the gift with a fiery speech. I would not want a homemade envelope made of A4 paper to be lost among others. Let's try to make it the most interesting.

What do we need? We will need:

  • scissors;
  • ruler;
  • 2 sheets of A4 paper (we suggest you take one plain sheet of paper, the other with contrasting patterns);
  • glue;
  • a pair of satin ribbons (one will be the top, the other the bottom).

We decided to be a little creative and took as a basis the wallpaper that remained after a long renovation. For this reason, the paper will seem different to you in its texture.

1 step: A piece of paper 20x40 was taken as the base. From this rectangle we will continue to create.

2 step: Fold the paper in half inward as shown in the photo above. Now bend the other edges of the product also towards the center.

3 step: Expand the work you just completed. Bend the sides with a corner, as shown in the photo.

4 step: Now you need to turn the sheet back. It's time for bright paper. Glue a small piece of colored paper to the base of the envelope.

5 step: Hide the remaining bright paper inside to a regular envelope sheet. It should turn out something like this.

6 step: Now take the ribbon prepared in advance and glue it in the center of the envelope, only on the reverse side.

7 step: We took 2 ribbons - wide white and thin blue. Now we put a thin ribbon on top of the white one to brighten up the envelope.

8 step: Tie a beautiful bow in the center of the envelope on the front side. Do not forget to process the cut parts of the tapes. To do this, you can use a regular lighter or matches.

Do-it-yourself postal envelope

In order to practice creating the most common white paper envelope for sending a letter, we only need:

  • a sheet of white paper A4;
  • scissors;
  • as well as double-sided adhesive paper or ordinary glue.

1 step: Fold a sheet of paper in the way shown in the photo (triangle to the center). You should end up with a square with equal sides. The part of the paper that is outside the square will need to be cut off.

2 step: Now we take scissors and cut off the unnecessary part of the A4 sheet.

3 step: Put the resulting figure in such a way that in front of you is not so much a square as a rhombus. Try gently bending the right and left corners of the diamond so that they touch in the center.

4 step: Bend the marked sides.

5 step: Pull the bottom corner and unite the three corners in the center of the shape. Almost everything is ready. The corner at the bottom should be slightly higher than the side corners. We do not touch the upper part of the product yet.

6 step: Bend the corner of the bottom side inside the pocket. Thus, you ensure the safety of what you wrote there.

7 step: Bend the top. Everything is ready! You can now attach the letter and secure the "lid" of the envelope with double-sided tape or with a regular drop of glue.

gift envelope

In this master class, we took a more serious approach to preparing a gift envelope. The whole concept is based on scrapbooking motifs that fit perfectly into this style.

What will we need?

  • basis - scheme;
  • cardboard sheet of paper;
  • 2 kinds of colored paper and plain A4 paper;
  • satin ribbon;
  • glue, scissors, ruler;
  • various small details: beads, butterflies for decoration;
  • and the most amazing tool is the sewing machine.

1 step: Taking as a basis one of the schemes presented above, we will make such a cardboard cutout.

2 step: Prepare two strips of colored paper, in proportion to the cardboard sheet. However, do not forget to slightly reduce the height so that the sheets fit neatly into the envelope.

4 step: Along the lines of the edge of these leaves, we make a frame from prepared ruffles.

5 step: We glue the cut out colored strips, as in the photo.

6 step: We stick paper on cardboard (on the outside of our craft). Next, we take out the sewing machine and walk along the edges with a white thread (neatly along the top line, without skipping the corners).

7 step: Important! Before you glue the back and leaf, thread a satin ribbon there.

8 step: Tie the ribbon in the front, add the inscription, decorative elements to your taste. For example, we made a butterfly on the top corner.

I would not want a homemade envelope made of A4 paper to be lost among others. Let's try to make it the most interesting.

What do we need? We will need:

  • scissors;
  • ruler;
  • 2 sheets of A4 paper (we suggest you take one plain sheet of paper, the other with contrasting patterns);
  • glue;

  • a sheet of white paper A4;
  • scissors;

  • basis - scheme;
  • cardboard sheet of paper;
  • 2 kinds of colored paper and plain A4 paper;
  • satin ribbon;
  • glue, scissors, ruler;
  • various small details: beads, butterflies for decoration;

8 step: Tie a ribbon in front, add an inscription, decorative elements to your taste. For example, we made a butterfly on the top corner.

origami envelope

We invite you to watch a video on how to make an original origami envelope with which you can please your children and even friends.

Video: how to make an envelope out of A4 paper with your own hands

You can learn other ways to make cute envelopes with your own hands from the following videos.

Today I have a slightly unusual post, but it’s suitable for diluting SEO-shnoy and moneymaker information. Especially also about money :-). It all started with the fact that I needed to make an envelope for money. Naturally, I didn’t want to mess around with glue and paper with scissors. I went to the search engine typed the appropriate request, but did not find anything really suitable. Either you need glue or scissors. Lots of tutorials on scrapbooking techniques, which didn't suit me at all.

A few years ago I got a little carried away Japanese art origami. I remembered that there is a way to fold an envelope out of paper without glue. But the problem is that in the schemes proposed on the Internet, you need to use square sheets, and the A4 format is rectangular, so it must either be cut with scissors or cut off. I decided to improve the standard technique so that I could do without scissors, and I succeeded. Do you want to know how?

Do-it-yourself envelope for money without glue and scissors from A4 sheet:

Explanation for the scheme:

  1. We bend sheet A4 along the diagonal of the square.
  2. Fold the rest of the rectangle into a triangle.
  3. We do the same with the remaining piece.
  4. We straighten the sheet and begin to fold from a small triangle along the folds made earlier.
  5. We bend the excess part so that we get a square sheet.
  6. We bend the square diagonally and get a triangle.
  7. Next, we proceed according to the standard scheme. We bend the triangle from above.
  8. We bend the right corner of the triangle first.
  9. And we put the left one on top of it.
  10. We find the center of the future lock, bend the edge to the left.
  11. Smooth out the folds.
  12. Then rotate the edge 90 degrees.
  13. With a slight movement we make a lock to the envelope.
  14. Straighten and straighten it.
  15. We bend and close the top cover.

Congratulations! Your envelope is ready. Everything is done without glue and scissors in literally half a minute, and yesterday I only spent half a day developing the scheme and instructions for it :-). I even decided to put watermarks so that no one would steal the idea.

But the white envelope is somehow boring and too formal. You can pre-print something on a sheet, for example, a birthday photo, a landscape, or some text. A4 sheet size: 210x297 mm. I have a black and white printer, so I chose a floral pattern.

By the way, a banknote can only fit into an A4 envelope folded in half, so for money it is better to take paper in A3 format if possible. You can put in an envelope not only money, but also, for example, a postcard with poems or a gift certificate from a store.

The scheme for making an envelope for money proposed in the article has a number of advantages compared to existing options.

In this age of electronics and digital technology envelopes have almost disappeared from use. In the usual sense, they exist for sending letters by mail, but in fact they have a much broader purpose. You just need to imagine different forms and dimensions, and it will immediately become clear that the possibilities of envelopes have not yet been exhausted. Here we will consider several examples of how to make an envelope out of paper with your own hands for various purposes.

Ordinary - unusual

To begin with, we learn how to make the most ordinary envelope.

Prepare a sheet of paper, scissors, a ruler, a pencil and glue.

Using a pencil and a ruler, find the middle of the sheet and put a dot there. We fold the side corners to this point.

We bend the lower corner so that its end overlaps the two side ones.

Lubricate the corners with glue so as not to stain the inside of the envelope, glue and close the lid. In a couple of minutes the envelope is ready. This is the easiest way, but all envelope making is based on it. Further it will be more interesting. A paper envelope can be decorated, then it will turn into a festive package. For example, to give newlyweds for a wedding banknotes or a check for a certain amount, you will definitely need an envelope for money. From a piece of wallpaper, lace and ribbons, you can make a beautiful festive envelope.

Envelope design options are endless. Considering that this is usually a small item, it will not be difficult to find material for decoration.

Simple Options

Envelopes serve basically, as before, for the transmission of information. For a letter sent by mail, there are standards that must be followed. A4 sheet is quite consistent with these standards. Putting it vertically, you need to bend the upper part, measuring 5.1 cm, and bend the lower part in half. To glue the finished envelope, you will need two strips of paper 12.3 cm long and 4 cm wide. They need to be smeared with glue and glue the side edges of the envelope. To specify the sender and recipient addresses, it is better to follow general rules to make sure the letter gets through.

Note! It is very important not to forget to stick the stamp, otherwise everything will be done in vain.

Nowadays, information is most often transmitted on disks and flash drives. If a flash drive can be attached to a keychain or simply carried in a pocket, then the disks must be handled carefully, stored in separate envelopes. But what if the envelope is torn or simply did not exist? The answer is simple: you need to make an envelope for the disc with your own hands. Let's take a "stripped" disk and a sheet of A4 paper.

Did you need an envelope, but it wasn’t at the post office, or is there simply no time to go there? Or maybe he needs handmade? You can assemble it yourself at home from an album or notebook sheet. Such improvised material can be found in every home or office. Would you like to learn how to make an A4 envelope? Let's figure it out.

The envelope can be assembled by yourself at home

Giving money is very simple, but to make it beautiful and not look like a simple cash transfer, you need to put it in an envelope. And if the gifted person is dear to you or you just want to surprise him, then the issue of packaging must be approached with all seriousness.

It doesn’t matter if the envelope is large or not, the basic process is the same for them, so take as a basis step by step instructions on the formation of an envelope from sheet A4:

  1. Select the desired color sheet. It can also be made from an ordinary sheet of office paper, but if there is a need in the stationery store, you can buy not only a colored sheet, but also with all sorts of drawings.
  2. Now you need to fold it so that you get a square. Remove the excess part of the paper with scissors, but not tearing off, so that the edges are even and beautiful.
  3. Lay the square so that its corner is facing up.
  4. Using a ruler, bend inward all its corners, forming a square inside.
  5. Unfold the top corner, it will close your envelope.

Fasten the remaining corners with a small drop of glue, preventing them from sticking to the inner space of the envelope, only between themselves.

How to fold an envelope from a landscape sheet without glue?

It is not always at hand that there is glue with which the corners of a home-made envelope are fastened. In this case, you need to apply a little more effort and slightly change the technique of forming a mail envelope. This is easy to do, especially if you have basic origami skills.

It is not always at hand that there is glue that fastens the corners of a homemade envelope.

  • form a square from the album sheet, removing everything superfluous with scissors;
  • make the edges as even as possible so that they do not spoil appearance the design in which your letter will fall;
  • carefully fold the resulting sheet so that an even fold line connects the opposite corners of the square, forming two stripes;
  • put the straightened square with one corner up, make the bend of the lower corner to the center of the structure;
  • now also combine the side corners, but so that they do not reach the center, but are simply nearby;
  • bend the corner of the bottom of the envelope so that it forms a flap connecting the side parts;
  • put a letter or money in an envelope, bend it inward, hiding its corner in the inside.

Origami from the album sheet

For those who are not afraid of difficulties and want to surprise the addressee with their work with an album sheet, there is an option to form a beautiful envelope using the origami technique. It won't take more than half an hour.

For it you will need:

  • a rectangular sheet of paper for origami or scrapbooking;
  • centimeter substrate;
  • simple pencil;
  • iron ruler.

It won't take more than half an hour

How to do:

  1. Fold the sheet with small sides to each other so that the wrong side of the sheet is inside.
  2. Lay the sheet with the fold down, and fold the top towards you so that it takes up a quarter of it.
  3. The resulting valve must be bent again, but already up, closing the wrong side with the front part. Now the whole sheet is folded 8 times.
  4. Unfold the last fold and fold it in the middle to get a strip with a part of the inside and a part of the face.
  5. Now we bend the lower corners into triangles, and tuck them under the previously obtained valve.
  6. We turn the design over, and bend it on the sides, formed by the part outward on both sides of the envelope.
  7. Turn over to decompose only the bends made.
  8. We form the upper clan by bending it to the colored strip of the lower valve.
  9. On the sides of the envelope you should get two rectangles on each side, on the bottom of them you need to draw diagonals diverging from the envelope.
  10. Fold the top edge of the flap to the marked diagonal on each side.
  11. We open the structure, form bends inward in the lower corners so that we get triangles.
  12. Bend the belt and put it into a triangle, wrap its side part like a shutter.
  13. We also form side triangles on the top valve, making a common triangle.
  14. Having expanded it, we bend the folds, as is the case with the bottom valve.

The resulting triangle will close your envelope, with a message or money enclosed in it.

How to make a postal envelope from A4 paper?

Of course, the easiest way is to find a template for such an envelope on the Internet and, after printing, fold it along the desired dotted contours. In fact, it will need to be bent and glued. If printing is too easy, then you can use any of the above methods. Although it is difficult to work with your own hands, the emotions that the addressee will reward you with will more than pay off your efforts. Such envelopes are stored carefully and such an act is remembered for a long time, especially if before that needlework was not your forte.

Envelope for money

To make it, you need to draw a template on medium density cardboard.

  1. In the center, draw a rectangle with sides of 24 * 21 centimeters.
  2. On the wrong side, draw an inner rectangle with a side of 10 cm.
  3. On the one hand, draw a protruding rounded part of 1 cm, and on the other - 2 cm.
  4. Bend all the parts along the folds, stretch the cord into the side valves.

Such envelopes are stored carefully and such an act is remembered for a long time.

The envelope is ready. You can decorate it however you like.

Large A4 envelope

Any formation technology is applicable for it, but if we take the latter as a basis, then all lines must be drawn based not on the indicated numbers, but on the format of the sheet itself.

First draw small side valves, and from them the main ones.

Making an envelope with your own hands is quite simple

If the addressee is a man, then the color of the sheet and the ribbon must be chosen strict; for ladies, you can decorate with lace, feathers or other decor that the addressee will like.

What else can be done from an A4 sheet: ideas

There are a lot of options for crafts, and most often their creation is limited by the lack of imagination. But all this is fixable when there is a desire.

Therefore, the following ideas will come in handy:

  • envelopes of various shapes and formats;
  • greeting cards ordinary and 3D;
  • bookmarks in books;
  • Christmas decorations;
  • decor for the room;
  • tapes;
  • airplanes and ships;
  • any origami craft;
  • flowers;
  • hat decor and much more.

As a basis, you can take pure white paper, color, with drawings and embossing. You can make amazing tandems with fabric, special self-adhesive paper, colored tape, etc. With a certain approach, you can reach the level when your crafts become original works that will be in incredible demand.

You need to start work small, gradually moving to more complex envelopes or other crafts. Something will not work out or will be hopelessly damaged, but you should not leave everything halfway. After all, it is through mistakes and painstaking, hard work that people achieve success. Even if it is an ordinary homemade envelope.
