"ZLATEX" started the production of excavators in 1959 in cooperation with the Dnepropetrovsk "Southern Mechanical Plant named after Makarov" (UMZ). The enterprise was the first in the RSFSR to launch serial production of excavators based on YuMZ wheeled tractors - model E-153.

Since 1961, the plant's specialists have been independently modernizing the tractor - the installation of the cab has been changed. With the advent of the EO-2621A excavator in 1971, the metal structure of the excavator changed, thanks to which the equipment began to be operated in the harsh climate of Siberia and the Urals, as well as in the hot climate of the republics of the Caucasus and Central Asia.

The EO-2626 backhoe loader is mounted on the MTZ-82P, MTZ-82.1 base chassis and is equipped with a bucket with a capacity of up to 0.8 m3, and can optionally be equipped with a grab, hydraulic hammer, and a lifting device. On the basis of the Belarus MTZ-82.1 tractor (D-243 engine, 78 hp), the EO 2626 Ch jaw backhoe loader is produced with a bucket capacity of up to 0.8 m3 and a loading height of up to 3.2 m. Model of the EO 2621 backhoe loader V-3 is installed on the Belarus MTZ-82 chassis, has a loading height of 2.3 m and is intended for loading and unloading and earthworks (bucket with a capacity of up to 0.25 m3).

On the basis of wheeled tractors, the Zlateks plant produces a wide range of utility vehicles, as well as snowplows.

The enterprise was founded in the city of Zlatoust in 1754 as a private steel factory. After the revolution, the factory became the workshop of the Zlatoust Mechanical Plant (now JSC "Bulat").
