Holiday Group of Companies is launching a new chain of discount stores. Retailer Holiday Classic rents retail space

One of the largest regional food retailers in Siberia, the Holiday Classic Group of Companies, is opening a new chain of discount stores, reports Continent-Sibir. On December 1, 7 stores under the “Boom” brand will be launched. It is assumed that in terms of price positioning the chain will not only be lower than Holiday itself, but also than Holdie Discounter.

The information that the Holiday Group is indeed launching a new chain of stores was confirmed to KS by a source close to the company. According to available information, the project is of a pilot nature. On December 1, 7 new points will be opened - 2 in Novosibirsk, 3 in Novokuznetsk, one each in Biysk and Barnaul. In all cases, we are talking about launching new sites, and not reformatting existing stores. Some of the new points will be located on the first line of highways (such as in Novosibirsk), some - on the second and third - in places with low rent.

In Novosibirsk, the first store will be opened on Energetikov Avenue in the building of the former Domotsentr hypermarket (FORMA) next to Lenta and not far from the Sibirsky Gigant. The second store, according to available data, will be located in the area of Gusinobrodskoye Highway and flea markets in a separate building not far from the Zimushka fur center.

It is expected that in terms of price positioning the new chain will not only be lower than Holiday itself, but also than Holdie Discounter. In essence, this format can be considered an analogue of the “Traffic Light” network. Also a competitor may be the Mayak store, launched in the fall of this year on the left bank of Novosibirsk.

The concept of the new chain provides for a warehouse store format with a limited assortment and a small markup that allows keeping prices low. It is noteworthy that many suppliers of the new network were not previously existing partners of the Holiday Group of Companies.

There should be no internal competition between “Boom” and “Holdie Discounter”, since the latter, most likely, can soon move to a higher price segment, receiving the name “Holdie RF”.

Let us remind you that Holiday Group of Companies is currently the largest retail chain in Siberia. It was founded in 2000 by Nikolai Skorokhodov together with partners in the Land investment group. About 500 stores of the group are located in seven regions of Russia: Novosibirsk, Omsk, Kemerovo, Tomsk and Tyumen regions, as well as in the Altai and Krasnoyarsk territories.

Earlier, KS sources reported that Holiday Group of Companies would change owners before the end of the year. According to preliminary data, Nikolai Skorokhodov will retain the Holdy Discounter and Farmer Center brands, and the rest of the business will be sold. Initially, it was assumed that Magnit would be the buyer, but in the end, according to KS sources, we will talk about a partial sale of the chain to three federal retailers at once - Lenta, Magnit and X5 Retail Group. In particular, the Lenta chain, in particular, in early November officially announced the purchase of 22 supermarkets under the Holdi, Kora and Holiday Classic brands with a total area of about 40 thousand square meters. meters in Novosibirsk, Kemerovo and Barnaul. The deal is valued at up to 3 billion rubles.
