Nursery rhymes

Chick-chick-chick!

Chicks! There is some water in a tub.

Who's afraid of me

I won't give him any water.

Here are the chickens running -

They are not afraid of Natka.

Near the tub there is a saucer -

They will all get drunk.

Little hen, where did you go?

To the river.

Little chicken, why did you go?

For some water.

Little hen, why do you need some water?

To feed the chickens,

Little hen, How do chickens ask for a drink?

Pee-pee-pee, pee-pee-pee!

Cockerel, cockerel,

golden comb,

Butter head,

Silk beard!

That you get up early

Don't you let the kids sleep?

You geese, geese,

Red paws!

Where have you been? What have you heard?

Where did you see Vanya’s mother?

And Vanyushin’s mother

Walking in the field

Collects flowers

Vanyusha curls a wreath for his own.

Chicks, chicks, chicks!

A goose rides on a stick

Duck on a pipe

Chicken on a chick,

Bunny on a wheelbarrow

Boy on a dog.

Oh, you little owl,

You're a big head!

You were sitting on a tree

You turned your head

She fell into the grass,

She rolled into a hole!

Here's an owl-owl -

Big head

Sitting on a tree

He turns his head.

Looks in all directions

And he says to everyone: -

Nobody hits the owl

And he doesn’t pull your ears.

You geese, geese,

Red paws!

Where have you been

What did you see?

We saw a wolf:

The wolf carried away the gosling,

Yes the best

Yes, the most!

You geese, geese,

Red paws!

You pinch the wolf -

Save the gosling!

The night has come

Brought darkness;

The cockerel dozed off

The cricket began to sing.

It's too late, son,

Lie down on your side

Bye-bye, go to sleep...

Our ducks in the morning -

Quack-quack-quack! Quack-quack-quack!

Our geese by the pond -

Ha-ha-ha! Ha-ha-ha!

And the turkey in the middle of the yard -

Ball-ball-ball! Bullshit!

A swan floats along the river,

Above the bank the little head is carried,

He waves his white wing,

He shakes water onto the flowers.

Bullfinches.

On the courtyard by the door.

I poured over the threshold

Buckwheat, seeds, cottage cheese.

And when I went out to sit,

Then I heard from them: -

You are kinder than all the guys

And faster, Grisha!

POETRY

Birdie

Fun in the wild

Little bird to fly,

Above the flowers in the field

Sing songs;

And on a flexible branch,

In the forest twilight,

Children are waiting for the songbird

In the native nest.

Nightingale

(excerpt)

On a hill, through a green grove,

At the shine of a bright stream,

Under the roof of a quiet May night,

In the distance I hear a nightingale.

In the light, fragrant winds

Now it whistles, now it rings,

Then we drown out the noise of water,

It languishes with a sweet sigh.

Tick-tweet!

It's already warm. And sometimes

A noisy scream is heard from the garden.

Then there are sparrows in a crowd

They shout on the branches: “Chick-chirp!”

The birds are happy from the clouds

The sun will appear for them for a moment;

They meet this ray

With a cheerful cry: chik-chirk!

That ray whispers to them that the earth

Everything will soon become like a flower garden,

Drown in the green fields...

And louder you can hear: chirp-tweet!

Sparrow wanted to swing

Our little sparrow swings

wanted

On a visit to a thin blade of grass

arrived,

Sat on the very top -

qin-tsvirin:

“Rock me, little epic,

throw it up!.."

A blade of grass sways in the wind.

Oh how the sun shines brightly

in the morning!

Oh, how fun it is when in the world

May!

You are a sparrow, a blade of grass,

shake it!

spotted woodpecker

And from the top - knock-knock-knock,

The sound of a woodpecker is heard.

He hammers the bark with his beak,

Looking for food in it for the table.

Let's come closer to him.

Just don’t shout: “I don’t see!” -

This will scare away the bird

And then you won’t find it.

This is the woodpecker in front of us.

He's busy again with business.

Hollows all his hollow -

The bird will be warm there.

The bird has a strong beak,

They are a master craftsman to work with.

We just hear her knocking -

Knock-knock-knock and knock-knock-knock.

Jay

We will enter the forest from the edge,

We will find many miracles there.

She shouted brightly from the branch

For us, the mistress of the forest is the jay.

Lark

In the sun the dark forest glowed,

In the valley thin steam whitens,

And he sang an early song

In the azure the lark is ringing.

Sings, sparkling in the sun:

Spring has come to us young,

Here I am singing the inauguration of spring!..

For the curious

Birds

Birds probably evolved from reptiles and, like them, lay hard-shelled eggs. The scales of reptiles turned into feathers, and the forelimbs into wings.

Birds have one significant advantage over reptiles. The body temperature of reptiles changes along with the air temperature, and in order to stock up on heat, they are forced to bask in the sun. Birds, like mammals, are warm-blooded, that is, their bodies maintain a constant temperature, regardless of air temperature.

The initial plumage in birds was formed formaintaining heat in the body. And only later did the wings begin to serve flight.

feathered birds

All modern birds can be divided into 27 orders, although there is no generally accepted system in the field of bird classification, and the approaches of different researchers often do not coincide. The smallest order has only one species - the ostrich.

The most numerous order of passerines(Passeriformes), it contains over 5,100 species. Among them are birds such as sparrows, warblers, starlings, finches, crows, blackbirds, swallows, cardinals, etc.

Other orders include rheas, penguins, loons, grebes, albatrosses, pelicans, ducks, birds of prey, owls, game birds, cranes, herons, snipes, gulls, pigeons, parrots, swifts, kingfishers and woodpeckers.

Birds are an extremely prosperous class of animals. Apart from bats, birds are the only vertebrates that can fly. At the same time, birds managed to adapt to life in a variety of conditions and eat a variety of foods.

Their success in the struggle for existence is associated both with the ability to fly and with the ability of their body to change following changes in external conditions - to adapt.

Where do which birds live?

Ostriches - in Africa; Laughing Kingfisher - in Australia; pintail duck - in Europe and North America; crossbill - in Europe, Asia and North America.

Food, beaks and paws

How birds have adapted in the process of evolution is most clearly seen in the structure of their beaks and paws. For example, meat-eating birds usually have a hooked beak, suitable fortearing raw meat, and sharp claws on the paws to grab the victim.

Birds of prey, depending on their size and habitat, can feed on everything from insects and small mammals tosquirrels and monkeys. Some predators are very picky eaters. Thus, the secretary bird catches only snakes and lizards, and the osprey feeds exclusively on fish. This group also includes vultures that eat carrion. Many vultures have a bare neck, which is convenient for birds, which stick their head between the bones of the skeleton of a dead animal.

Waterfowl are typically equipped with webbed feet; penguins use their wings to“flying” under water, they simply grab the fish, chasing it.

The common kingfisher, heron or cormorant use their long sharp beaks as harpoons. The puffin can pull out up to 30 small fish in its amazing beak. The pelican catches fish by plunging its huge, scoop-like beak into the water like a net.

Insects can be found in countless quantities almost everywhere, which is why many species of birds feed on them. Flycatchers, larks, pipits, thrushes, and warblers look for insects from cracks in the bark. Woodcocks and hoopoes find worms in the ground.

The woodpecker drills holes in the bark of a tree and looks for insects with a surprisingly long tongue, the end of which is lined with sharp spines. Swallows, swifts, nightjars and other birds grab insects in flight.

Cranes, herons, coots, and snipes have long legs with widely spaced toes. Thanks to their long beaks, they can search for small animals in mud, sand or shallow water. A herring gull smashes mussel shells into pieces, throwing them from a height onto the rocks.

Woodpecker tree finches extract beetle larvae from dead trees using a cactus needle.

Many insectivorous birds also eat seeds and fruits. For example, tits, starlings, blackbirds, crows and gulls are omnivores, and the Australian laughing kingfisher is said to eat everything it comes across. He kills the caught snake by throwing it down from a height.

Other bird species are herbivores. Ducks use their wide, flat beaks to collect grass and aquatic plants.

Short-nosed finches primarily eat plant seeds.

The beak of the crossbill is well adapted to extracting mature seeds from the cones of coniferous trees.

Parrots eat a variety of tropical fruits and seeds. A slightly curved beak and an extremely mobile tongue help them get food.

Reproduction

Unlike reptiles, birds hatch their eggs and care for their offspring. The mating season often begins with an elaborate courtship ritual during which the male and female appear to introduce themselves to each other. The purpose of this strange-looking behavior is to confirm that both partners belong to the same species and are ready to mate.

Most birds lay their eggs in nests, sometimes just holes in the ground or structures in trees or bushes.

The chicks hatched from the eggs are cared for by either one or both parents. Some chicks can run and feed themselves within a few hours or days after emerging from the egg. Others are born blind and naked or sparsely pubescent. They have to stay in the nest for several weeks and even months.

Skilled builders

Weavers are small passerine birds. Most of them feed on seeds. Some species of weavers have become famous as skilled builders. With their beaks and paws, they weave a nest from plant fibers in the form of a hanging hollow ball with a cylindrical narrow entrance.

Colonial weaver species build a very large nest of reeds that holds several dozen or even hundreds of eggs.

Robber Cuckoo

European cuckoos (and several other species) lay eggs in other people's nests. The cuckoo throws its eggs into the nests of small birds in the absence of their owners. The cuckoo hatched from the egg, although naked and blind, throws out the eggs or chicks of the host birds that have already been born from the nest. After this, all the attention of the foster parents is focused on the cuckoo, which they continue to feed until it grows larger than them.

The adoptive parents are unlikely to ever find out that this huge chick is an impostor.

Long-legged, long-nosed,

Little gray bird
Small bird,
You always move your neck.
Is this really necessary?

Sparrow

Boyan brawler
In a gray army jacket
Snooping around the yards
Collects crumbs.

In a gray feather coat
And in the cold he is a hero,
Jumps, frolics on the fly,
Not an eagle, but still a bird.

Little boy
In a gray army jacket,
Snooping around the yards
Picks up crumbs.
Roams through the fields
He steals hemp.

You will find it in your yard,
She's a joy for the kids.
Don't you dare offend her!
This bird is...

But he can’t walk.
Wants to take a step -
It turns out to be a jump.

(N. Maidanik)

Peck, don't be shy! Who is this?

I catch bugs all day
I eat bugs and worms.
I’m not leaving for the winter,
I live under the eaves.

Crow

Kar-kar-kar! - shouts the cheat.
What a clever thief!
All the shiny things
This bird loves it!
And she is familiar to all of you,
What is her name? ...
(N. Maidanik)

I was sitting on a tree
And she had cheese in her mouth,
And a fox passes by a tree
She ran close.
Who am I? Do you know?
Well, guess!

They wear a gray vest
But the wings are black.
You see, twenty couples are circling

And they shout:
- Carr! Karr! Karr!

The color is greyish,
Thieving in habit,
Hoarse screamer -
Famous person.
Who is she?..

The chicks scream hoarsely,

(P. Smolin)

In spring the bird arrives.
The field will be plowed - it likes to feed there.

All the migratory birds are blacker,
Cleans arable land from worms.

All the migratory birds are blacker,
Cleans arable land from worms.
Jump back and forth across the arable land.
And the bird's name is...

In the summer he follows the plowman,
And before winter
He leaves screaming.

The sun is warming at the doorstep
And the snowdrifts melted,
Streams flowed like rivers,
They arrived to us...
(N. Maidanik)

Black, agile,
Shouts "crak"
The enemy of worms.

What kind of spring black bird
Does it almost sit on the tractor's nose?

Goose

White as snow
Puffed up like fur
Walks on shovels.

I swam in the water,
But it remained dry.

Waddle single file along the path
Pillows and featherbeds are wandering
Flounder in a pond in a crowd,
The throat was hoarse as he walked.
They are excellent swimmers.
The legs have red flippers.
(V. Kremnev)

Long neck,
Red paws,
Pinches your heels
Run without looking back.

Red paws
They pinch your heels.

The clothes are white and the legs
Wearing red boots,
They will go out of fashion - that’s the problem!
He'll never take them off.

He repeats one thing - ha-ha,
Who offended? Where? When?
I'm not afraid of anyone
Well of course it is...

He wanders importantly through the meadow,
Comes out of the water dry,
Wears red shoes
Gives soft featherbeds.

Sleeping or bathing
Everything doesn't come off:
Day and night on legs
Red boots.

Walks to the river boldly
All dressed in white,
On his legs
Red boots.

I can hiss like a snake
And my neck is like a snake,
But I swim better and I’m proud of it,
Who can compare with me, I am...!

Hisses, cackles,
He wants to pinch me.
I'm going, I'm not afraid.
Who is this?

It stings, not cancer. It's hissing, not a viper.

Goose with goslings

They get into formation without a command,
They go to the pond.
Who walks in a long chain,
Who loves discipline so much?

Thrush

Red beak
And a motley tail -
How beautiful is the singer...

Woodpecker

In the forest, under the twitter,
Ringing and whistling
The forest telegraph operator knocks:
"Hey, thrush, buddy!"
And signs...

Around the trunk of a large pine tree
Cones are visible in the snow.
Here at the forge I spent
Lots of strength, agile...
(P. Smolin)

Here is a huge pine trunk
Cleared of bark, naked.
I worked hard here
In a red cap... (yellow)
(P. Smolin)

It knocks all the time
The trees are being hollowed out.
But it doesn't hurt them
But it only heals.

Who is wearing a bright red beret,
In a black satin jacket?
He doesn't look at me
Everything is knocking, knocking, knocking.

On the claws on the pine trunk
The red-headed fitter climbed in.
He worked hard
But the light did not flash in the forest.

Not a woodcutter, not a carpenter,
And the first worker in the forest.

He's in his forest chamber
Wears a colorful robe,
He heals trees
If they knock, it’s easier for them.

He's dressed for work -
Convenient, simple, clever.
He's wearing a crimson beret
And a colorful overall.

Carpenter using a sharp chisel
Builds a house with one window.

I'm knocking on wood,
I want to get something.
Even though he hid under the bark -
The worm will be mine!
(Option:
I'm knocking on wood
I want to get a worm.
Even though he hid under the bark -
It will still be mine!)

Knock-knock-knock all day in the morning.
How can he not be too lazy to knock?
Maybe he's a little crazy?
- Knock-knock-knock, - in response to us...
(N. Maidanik)

Although I'm not a hammer -
I'm knocking on wood:
Every corner is in it
I want to explore.
I wear a red hat
And the acrobat is wonderful.

Black vest, red beret.
The nose is like an ax, the tail is like a stop.

What kind of blacksmiths forge in the forest?

I'll knock on the patients -
I will cure them of their illness.
My always sick people -
Oaks and pines are centuries old.
(V. Kremnev)

Lark

High under the clouds
Over the fields and meadows,
As if fluttering out of sleep,
The song starts...
(N. Maidanik)

He builds his nest in the field,
Where the plants grow.
His songs and flight
Enter the poems!

If he wants, he will fly straight,
He wants - he hangs in the air,
Falls like a stone from the heights
And in the fields he sings, sings.

Cranes, crane

The brothers stood on stilts,
They look for food along the way.
Are you running or are you walking?
They can't get off their stilts.

Long-legged, long-necked
Long-billed, gray body,
And the back of the head is bare and red.
Wanders through the dirty swamps,
Catches frogs in them,
Clueless jumpers.

Leaves are falling from aspen trees,
A sharp wedge rushes through the sky.

If he wants, he will fly straight,
He wants - he hangs in the air,
Falls like a stone from the heights
And in the fields he sings, sings.

Robin

In the thicket, where there are pine and spruce,
Whistle, silver trill
Starts early
Red-breasted...
(P. Smolin)

Turkey

Walked around the yard
A crocodile with a sharp beak,
I shook my head all day,
He muttered something loudly.
Only this was true
Not a crocodile
And turkeys are your best friend.
Guess who?..

Spreads its tail like a peacock,
He walks like an important gentleman,
Feet knock on the ground,
What's his name -...

Cockatoo

I can't find anyone more talkative
Parrot...

Crossbill

Here's a bird, like a bird,
Not a blackbird, not a titmouse,
Not a swan, not a duck
And not a nightjar.
But this bird
Even though it's small,
Hatches chicks
Only in severe winter.

Who's jumping and rustling there?
Does it gut pine cones with its beak?
With a clear, clear voice
“Cool! Cool! Cool!” sings with a whistle.

He is not afraid of blizzards,
It builds nests on spruce trees in winter,
His cry is abrupt, simple,
Crooked red...
(P. Smolin)

Nightjar

As soon as it gets dark, he flies away
And an open mouth is enough
Above land and above water
Insects...
(P. Smolin)

Wren

It's the size of a nut,
Birds are almost the least of all
Mosquitoes and flies enemy
Lively, red-haired...
(P. Smolin)

Korolek

Modest, small, dressed without polish,
Golden stripe
Glistens with the light of coal
On the head...
(P. Smolin)

Cuckoo

She sits on a branch in the forest,
She repeats one "kuckoo"
She counts the years for all of us,
She loses her chicks.
"Peek-a-boo" here and there,
What is this bird's name?

Who's telling fortunes in our forest?
And he knows everything about your life?
He'll crow, you'll count,
How long will you live?
Birdie, gray friend,
And her name is...
(N. Maidanik)

Who's on the tree, who's on the tree?
Does the counting go: “peek-a-boo, peek-a-boo”?

Who is this bird?
Never
Doesn't build nests for itself,
Leaves eggs for neighbors
And he doesn’t remember the chicks.

Mother, I don’t know father
But I often call
I won't know the children
I'll sell it to strangers.

Sitting on a branch
Screams his name.

Not a crow, not a tit, -
What is the name of this bird?
Perched on a bitch -
A “cuckoo” sound was heard in the forest.

A distant sad call is heard,
Repeating two syllables.
Birch forest, edge,
Sitting on a branch...
(P. Smolin)

Kuksha

If only it flies away,
The tail spreads out like a fan,
Red tail - it is visible better,
Why is the figure slender...
(P. Smolin)

Sandpiper

Crying in the swamp
But it doesn’t come from the swamp.

Chicken

Clucking, clucking,
Convenes children
He gathers everyone under his wing.

I'll eat a worm, drink some water,
I'll look for bread crumbs,
And then I'll lay an egg,
I'll treat the kids.

scarlet cap,
Non-woven vest,
The caftan is speckled.

Martin

It flies like a quick arrow,
There are enough midges in the air.
Tail with a fork, like a slingshot,
This is ... (killer whale swallow)
(P. Smolin)

Nest under the roof
Deftly builds
He constantly breeds his chicks,
Before the rain it flies very low,
This bird
Every child knows
We love to watch her,
This bird's name is... (swallow).

A welcome guest from a distant land
Lives under the window.

Welcome guest
From a distant land
Lives under the window.

Who is this on a spring day
I wove a mitten over the window,
He brought new residents into it -
Such little chicks?

The little horse was overseas.

Comes to us with warmth,
Having come a long way,
Sculpts a house under the window
Made from grass and clay.

There is an awl in front, a fork in the back,
There is a white towel on the chest.

At the cliff, where there is a steep slope,
Clouds of fast-winged birds,
Burrows from bottom to top...
(shore swallows)
(P. Smolin)

Guess what kind of bird
- Little dark one?
White from the belly,
The tail is spread into two ends.

flycatcher

It only creaks, but does not sing,
He builds nests in half-hollows,
All movements are very dexterous
Modest... (gray flycatcher)
(P. Smolin)

mother hen

I declare to everyone -
Get away from the chickens.
At least I have the appearance of a bird,
But the character is like that of a lioness.

Clucking, clucking,
Convenes children
Gathers everyone under his wings.

She sits on white pebbles
Don't come close - he'll scream.

The mother has twenty children,
All children are the same age.

Oatmeal

The snow is melting, the rooks are flying,
Everyone's eyes are blinded by the rays.
What is ringing like a bottle?
Sings a song...
(P. Smolin)

Eagle

He builds a house on a rock.
Isn't it scary to live in it?
Although there is beauty all around,
But such a height!
No, the owner is not afraid
Roll down a steep cliff -
Two mighty wings
The owner...

Peacock

Lives in hot countries
And in cooler ones - in zoos.
And he is arrogant and boastful,
Because the tail is beautiful.
He admires them himself
And shows us.

The bushy tail of this bird
Sparkles with rainbow colors.

The tail opened by itself,
Like a painted fan.
The tail has a ruler,
And his name is...
(Yu. Svetlova)

Pelican

The fisherman stood in the water all day,
I filled the bag with fish.
Finished fishing, took the catch,
He rose up and was like that.

Warbler

It flies to us early in the spring,
Whistles with a gentle flute
Yellow-gray bird,
This is ... (willow warbler)
(P. Smolin)

Rooster, cockerel

Little white feathers,
Red scallop.
Who's that on the peg?
....

In the village there is a clock like this,
Not dead, but alive.
They walk without a factory,
They are avian.

I wake everyone up on time
At least I don’t wind the clock.

Rises at dawn
Sings in the yard
There is a comb on the head.
Who is this?

Scarlet comb,
The pockmarked caftan,
Double beard
An important gait.
He gets up before everyone else
Sings loudly.

From a white stone will be born,
The whole world wakes up.

He shouts loudest in the morning:
- It's time to get up! It's time to get up!
He has been serving all his life
And he makes friends with the sun.

Who screams the most?
Does everyone do the least?

Who was born twice:
For the first time - smooth,
In the second - soft,
And soon learned to sing?

Who sings so loudly
About the fact that the sun is rising?

"Ku-ka-re-ku!" - he shouts loudly,
Flapping its wings loudly, loudly,
A faithful shepherd of chickens,
What's his name?

Sitting on the fence
“Ku-ka-re-ku!” - shouts.

Not a rider, but with spurs,
Not a watchman, but wakes everyone up.

Not a king, but wearing a crown,
Not a horseman, but with spurs.

He lives in a chicken coop
Sings songs cheerfully
Even the flies wake up in the morning
In a loud voice...

He is in a bright uniform,
Spurs for beauty
During the day he is a bully
In the morning - hours.

He will knock his nose on the ground,
He flaps his wing and screams.
He screams even when sleepy,
Restless screamer!

Sat on the fence
Sang and shouted
And how did everyone get together?
He just shut up.

Tail with patterns,
Boots with spurs,
Little white feathers,
Red scallop.
Who's that on the peg?

Boots with spurs,
Sings songs
Time is counting.

He rakes away the rubbish with his paw,
Spreads its wings noisily
And sits on the fence.

I walk with great importance
And as durable as gunpowder.

Expanding our horizons...

Summer is a time of worries and worries for birds and animals. The cubs born in spring grow up: fox cubs, wolf cubs, elk calves, deer calves. Many birds have chicks at the very beginning of summer, and parents have to work hard to feed them. Only the cuckoo does not know maternal cares and worries: her children are raised by other birds, in whose nests she lays her eggs. In all other respects, the behavior of the cuckoo is impeccable: it destroys many harmful insects, especially the hairy caterpillars of various silkworms, which are almost never eaten by other birds.

By autumn, the number of insects decreases and it becomes colder. Many birds gather in flocks before a long journey to warm countries. The first to fly away from us are swifts, swallows and nightingales.

In winter, many animals and birds are very hungry; for them you can set up a table in the garden or a feeder near the window and put crumbs of bread, seeds, grain there every day, and for tits - a small piece of lard. Birds will gradually begin to fly to the feeders. The sparrows will arrive first, followed by the yellow-breasted tit, then the second, third. Tits will look for seeds, deftly pick them up and fly off to the branches of a neighboring tree to feast on delicious sunflowers. Then the titmice will become bolder and will peck the seeds right on the dining table.

A forest without birds and birds cannot live without a forest.
