From October 27 to November 2, 2015, Sokolniki Park (Pavilion 4.1) will host the Forty Magpies Orthodox Exhibition-Fair.

The fair will present the best traditions of the Orthodox holiday. Orthodox exhibition-fairs are a special event in the life of the Church, Her small part - the family and each individual. From all over Russia, near and far abroad, representatives of monasteries and churches, Orthodox publishing houses, workshops, icon painters, farm and family farms, craftsmen come to them. Here, in a place of spiritual unity of believers, participants can tell about themselves, show the fruits of their labors, talents and skills.

One of the central expositions of the exhibition will be a gallery of works by contemporary Russian artist Philip Moskvitin. The author will present images of Russian Saints, war heroes and landscapes of holy places in Russia.

For all days of the fair will be organized Art corner with handicraft workshops, where children and their parents can make souvenirs and toys with their own hands.

Readers of different ages can find interesting and useful literature on various topics: from the books of the Holy Scriptures, the works of classics and contemporary writers to children's works. At the exhibition, visitors will be able to get acquainted and purchase the works of icon painters, jewelry Orthodox themes, wax candles, incense and other church utensils used both in worship and at home.

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia approved the annual plan for Orthodox exhibitions-fairs in the city of Moscow and Orthodox exhibition events organized by synodal institutions. The list includes 32 thematic expositions, book exhibitions, and fairs. In Moscow, Orthodox expositions will be hosted by the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, the Manezh Central Exhibition Hall, VDNKh, the Sokolniki Congress and Exhibition Center, and the Amber Plaza business center. In agreement with the ruling bishops, the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church will hold book exhibitions and forums in various cities of Russia, as well as in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent.
