From June 27 to July 1, 2016 in Repino (St. Petersburg) a cluster of conferences "OrgChem-2016" was held. The chairman of the local Organizing Committee of the event was Corresponding Member. Kukushkin V. Yu., and the staff of the Department of Physical Education took part in the organization of this large-scale event.

The OrgChem-2016 conference cluster included:

XIX Youth Conference-School on Organic Chemistry;

Conference "Advances in the Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds";

Conference "Medical and Bioorganic Chemistry";

VI International Symposium on Organometallic Chemistry with elements of a scientific school (under the auspices of the Russian Science Foundation, project 14-43-00017);

1st All-Russian conference with elements of the scientific school "Computer modeling of heterocyclic polymers".

Cluster participants had the opportunity to present their work, discuss the results of their research with many eminent scientists, as well as representatives famous companies. 711 people took part in the work of the cluster. Presentations were made by 18 members of the Department of Chemistry and Materials Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Although the largest delegation was from Russian Federation, scientists from the CIS countries, as well as from Portugal and Germany, were widely represented at the conference. The work was attended, in particular, by the vice-president of the National Academy of Sciences of Portugal, prof. A. Pombeiro, who made a plenary report.
