How to find peace of mind and not lose yourself.

Modern people live in a hurry and bustle. Few people can keep calm and peace in their hearts. The wrong approach to life and oneself, turns into the fact that a person loses a sense of control over his life and wanders around in search of happiness and a sense of satisfaction. But, there is another option. You can live by keeping peace of mind. How to do it? Let's look at 7 tips.

1. Everything starts with forgiveness. First of all, you need to forgive yourself. For what? For the mistakes of the past, lost opportunities, for your shortcomings. To do this, you just need to realize that you are yesterday and you are today - these are 2 different personalities. Yesterday you did what your level of consciousness allowed, and today you have already gained experience and become wiser. Don't blame yourself for your past - it's pointless. Just forgive and thank life for the fact that you were able to realize and understand your mistakes. Let them go and don't look back.

2. Get free from addictions that weigh down your soul. Someone can not cope with smoking, someone cares social media, and there are those who have developed dependence on people. Don't be afraid to break with these controlling addictions and you will find the ease and freedom that are the foundation of peace of mind.

3. Another component of our lives that destroys peace of mind is the rush.. Dealing with this phenomenon is a little more difficult because it takes time to form new habits. Planning, failing, managing your promises, and realizing the value of time will help you master time management skills. When you plan your time without letting anyone or anything steal it from you, you will forget about the rush and stress that it provokes.

4. What we fill our soul and mind with determines our inner state. If you expose yourself to excessive information loads, do not follow what you read, watch and listen, you will always have a “porridge in your head” and a “cocktail of complex emotions”. Start today to control the flow of information, not allowing into your mind what is not useful, and your mind will always be clear and your emotions controlled.

5. Rest is necessary for all of us in order to restore our peace of mind, energy, and strength. Its deficiency negatively affects all spheres of our life, but our soul suffers first of all. Loss of harmony and tranquility due to overwork is simply inevitable. Find time to restore mental and physical strength.

6. You need to learn to see positive prospects in everything making the best out of every situation. No matter how bad a situation is, there is always something good to be learned from it. Therefore, rearrange your thinking in search of positive moments, and when this becomes your habit, you will always keep peace and joy in your soul.

7. Remember the most important thing - our state of mind is influenced by the people with whom we get close and spend a lot of time. Therefore, reconsider your social circle and try to distance yourself from those people who are trying in every possible way to disturb your peace of mind, undermine faith in success and your own strength! Replace them with those who help you, charge you with positive energy and fill you with joy.

I consider myself a fairly calm and balanced person, but sometimes situations arise in life when it is necessary to do everything "now and immediately." And for some reason it doesn't work out. The transport did not arrive on time, there were traffic jams on the road, some questions with documents ... And what is interesting, if you do not maintain a state of calm and internal balance, then everything rolls like a bun from a fairy tale "somersault". And if you manage to keep complete calm and remain in a state of "observer", all issues are resolved in the most wonderful and unexpected way.

The fact is that peace is our natural state, and is always available to us at any given time. A part of your consciousness is always in a state of complete calmness. It is like a pearl inside you, which constantly shines, and its light fills everything around with peace. But the box containing the pearl sometimes "slams" unexpectedly. And you are no more feel this light, although the pearl still shines. You just need to learn to remember the pearl and deftlylift the lid of the box.

And when we are in a relaxed and calm state that is natural for us, the world also shows us a picture where everything happens harmoniously and naturally.

How, in any situation, quickly and effectively restore a state of balance? I offer several proven and effective practices that can be applied in any place and situation without much embarrassing people around you.

Long and deep breathing

It is well known that if a person is in an excited state, breathing quickens. It works the same way Feedback, breathing directly affects the parasympathetic and sympathetic unequal systems. This means that if we slow down our breathing, we affect the parasympathetic nervous system, then what? That's right, we calm down.

In addition, care must be taken to ensure that the breath is "full". At the same time, both the stomach and the lungs should work on inhalation and exhalation. Let's try. When we inhale, our stomach is the first to inflate, then the chest goes, it "opens", the shoulders go back a little, I present to the gaze of a confident and calm person, and in addition, the upper ribs and collarbones slightly rise. Exhale in reverse order: upper chest, middle and abdomen. Not difficult at all, right? Pay attention to the fact that the exhalation is longer than the inhalation.

If your leader’s car was hit in the parking lot in the morning, and at this point in time he furiously tells you that your work efficiency wants the best, you calmly shift your attention to breathing, and take 3-5 deep long breaths and exhalations ... And calmly give an intelligible answer, conveying a state of calm and confidence to your superiors as well.

secret place

This is a very simple and enjoyable practice. For her, you will need to use your imagination. Find a quiet place, make yourself comfortable, so that nothing bothers you. You can just sit on a chair, or in any position convenient for you. Close your eyes and remember the place where you felt really happy, relaxed, where you didn't have to think or worry about anything. Perhaps this is a place from your childhood, or from your travels, or just let your imagination "draw" this place for you. Take your imagination to your secret place. Feel the wind on your hair, the smell of grass, the warm rays of the sun on your skin. Allow yourself to completely relax, and a state of peace envelop your body. Just be.

Before opening your eyes, rub your palms together and place warm palms over your eyes. Open your eyes "in your palms", then slowly lower your hands, and let the state of peace envelop through your eyes the entire real world you see. Try to keep this state.

You can return to your secret place as often as you like during the day. In time, there will be no need to close your eyes. It will be enough just to mentally remember this place. And after some time, the state of rest will become natural for you. And you will understand that the "secret place" is always within you.

Staying calm, we accumulate and save our internal resources, give the body the opportunity to recover. And most importantly, we receive and see the answers of space to the questions that concern us, we have the opportunity to quickly solve the tasks set before us with confidence that we are moving in the right direction.

In any incomprehensible situation, calm down, lie down, hug yourself, go and eat delicious treats. Take care of your nerves :)

Leave mistakes in the past.

Appreciate the real.

Smile to the future

As soon as you let go of the situation that torments you, the situation will immediately let you go.

You can find peace only by becoming an observer, calmly looking at the fleeting course of life. Irvin Yalom

Calmness is stronger than emotions.

And whatever happens to you, don't take anything to heart. Little in the world is important for a long time.

Erich Maria Remarque "Arc de Triomphe" ---

When you get caught in the rain, you can learn a useful lesson from this. If it starts raining unexpectedly, you don't want to get wet, so you run down the street to your house. But when you get home, you notice that you are still wet. If you decide from the very beginning not to quicken your pace, you will get wet, but you will not fuss. The same should be done in other similar circumstances.

If you throw a stick to a dog, he will look at this stick. And if you throw a stick to a lion, then he will, without looking up, look at the thrower. This is a formal phrase that was said during disputes in ancient China, if the interlocutor began to cling to words and stopped seeing the main thing.

Develop the habit of monitoring your mental-emotional state through self-observation. It is good to regularly ask yourself: "Am I calm at the moment?" is a question that is useful to ask yourself regularly. You can also ask: "What is going on inside me at the moment?"

Eckhart Tolle

Freedom is freedom from worry. Realizing that you cannot influence the results, do not pay attention to your desires and fears. Let them come and go. Do not feed them with interest and attention. In reality, things are done with you, not you.

We can never achieve peace in the outer world until we achieve it in the inner.

The essence of balance is not to cling.

The essence of relaxation is not to hold back.

The essence of naturalness is not to make an effort.

He who is not envious and does not wish harm to anyone has achieved balance. For him, the whole world is filled with happiness.

In order for life to bloom again, to seethe and be filled with exciting joy and happiness, you just need to stop ... Stop and allow yourself to dissolve in pleasure ...

Don't worry about your future, be at peace now and everything will fall into place.

If the water is not stirred up, it will settle on its own. If the mirror is not dirty, it will reflect light by itself. The human heart cannot be made pure by will. Don't worry about your future, be at peace now and everything will fall into place.

Calmness robs your enemies of strength. In calmness there is neither fear nor excessive anger - only reality, cleared of distortions and interference from emotional outbursts. When you are calm, you are truly strong.

Therefore, your opponents will always try with all their might to get you out of this state - to inspire fear, sow doubts, cause anger. The internal state is directly related to breathing. Whatever situation you find yourself in, immediately calm your breath - the spirit will calm down next.

The most important thing in the spiritual life is to keep the heart at peace.

You have to trust life.
It is necessary without fear to entrust oneself to its current, because life is infinitely wiser than us.
She still treats you in her own way, sometimes quite harshly,
but in the end you will realize that she was right.

Be at peace now and everything will fall into place.

Your spirit must not be agitated, an evil word must not come out of your lips; you must remain benevolent, with a heart full of love, containing no secret malice; and even ill-wishers you must embrace with loving thoughts, generous thoughts, deep and boundless, cleansed of all anger and hatred. That is how, my disciples, you must act.

Only calm water correctly reflects the heavens.

The best indicator of the level of consciousness is the ability to calmly relate to life's difficulties.

Do not rush. Eat at the hour of food, and the hour of the journey will come- hit the road.

Paulo Coelho "The Alchemist"

To yield means to accept what is. So you are open to life. Resistance is an internal clamp... . So you are completely closed. Whatever you do in a state of internal resistance (which can also be called negativity), it will cause even more external resistance, and the universe will not be on your side, life will not help you. Light cannot enter through closed shutters. When you internally give in and stop fighting, a new dimension of consciousness opens up. If action is possible... it will be done... supported by the creative mind... with which, in a state of inner openness, you become one. And then circumstances and people begin to help you, become one with you. There are happy coincidences. Everything is in your favor. If action is not possible, you are in the peace and inner peace that comes with not fighting.

--- Eastern wisdom ---

It is worth striving for such a state of consciousness in which all events will be perceived neutrally.

Peace, inner peace is one of the foundations of happiness. Inner peace is achieved when the body pulsates not in the rhythm that circumstances impose on us, but in the rhythm that is determined by the soul that has settled in our body for a limited time. And getting into resonance with spiritual vibrations is just a thrill. A high that is as difficult to express as it is to describe what you feel during an orgasm. A high that you should feel for yourself, so that you will never forget again.

By the way, people who are commonly called lazybones or couch potatoes are most often not loafers, but those who feel the charm of inner peace and try to achieve it with simple actions, which are most often unsuccessful.

But what should be done in order to achieve inner peace?

  1. Armed with patience. You start fighting with yourself. Achievements in this struggle will be necessary, but not immediately.
  2. Calm your spirit. Try to stop thinking. To do this, sit in silence. Try to free your head from thoughts. to free and clear your mind of thoughts. Learn to meditate, that is, focus completely on one thought, object, or inner feeling.
  3. Get rid of stress and anxiety. The first commandment here is not to fuss either at work or in life. One is minea friend formulated it even more unexpectedly: “Do not fuss under the client.” Another saying that also sets you in the right mood: “The best is the enemy of the good.” Down with perfectionism! Down with the Stakhanovites too! Don't try to do everything at once. As preference players say: "You can't go wrong with one"
  4. And yes, do not be ashamed to rest more often. Relax in some cozy place, even take a nap. Even though it happens at work
  5. Live here and now. Do not suffer because something did not work out in the past. Let's go! Don't worry about what will happen. As one of the heroes of "Soldier Schweik" said: "It will be, it was, after all, something, yes it was." Therefore, focus on current affairs. And build fewer plans, especially grandiose ones. Grandiose plans did not bring one great country to good.
  6. But don't focus on the present moment. Use the new experience. Down with any prejudice! And yes, don't judge anyone for acting differently than you are used to.
  7. Be happy. Make time for activities that bring you happiness. Satisfy your desires. This is not selfishness! This is reasonable selfishness.
  8. Don't run from yourself. Be yourself and enjoy your individuality.
  9. The most important happiness is in life itself. Be content with where you are, who you are and what you are doing.
  10. Be kind and courteous to others. Not for them, for yourself. Kindness warms the heart of the giver.
  11. Strive for beauty. Seeing beauty is an amazing pleasure. Develop the ability to see beauty in everything and everyone.
  12. Evaluate everything that happens calmly and joyfully. Everything that happens around happens for you.
  13. fill your inner world. This will save you from many problems in life that would otherwise seem intractable.
  14. Be optimistic. Even though we all die.
  15. And finally, always remember that the search for inner peace is always a process, not a result. Therefore, you will have to work on yourself every day. But is it difficult if the result is beautiful?

The most bitter thing is that most of this advice absolutely does not coincide with what most of our generation was "programmed" in childhood. That is, initially set up for an unsuccessful and difficult life.

Life without problems does not happen. There is always something or someone that brings anxiety and trouble. Often the cause of trouble is the person himself. But the source of problems is not so significant as their solution, because only in this way can peace of mind be obtained. Or is there another way?

Throughout a person’s life, problems are encountered, they have no end and edge, these are life lessons that make the soul and body stronger, smarter, more beautiful. So it makes no sense to hope for a complete solution to all problems, they will appear again. But you can learn to live with them, to respond to them correctly, so that it is not only easier to live, but also to find balance in your life and find peace, so necessary for normal, happy life and physical health. There are several tips, steps, after which you can look at the world with different eyes, stop getting angry over trifles and gain peace of mind.

11 steps to calmness and balance

  1. Awareness is the first step to solving a problem. It is impossible to escape from difficulties and worries, they will find you and punish you for your cowardice. It is better to accept and realize their significance. After all, there is no smoke without fire. Analyze the situation, where the problem came from, how it can be solved, but most importantly, take it for granted, because only by resigning yourself to it, you can really completely solve it.
  2. Everyone has shortcomings, they cannot be avoided and cannot be corrected. So it makes no sense to lose your temper watching your husband toss dirty socks under a chair, and not in a basket of dirty clothes. You love this person, so accept his shortcomings, these are his particles, you cannot love only half. This also applies to other things: the rain will fall in the autumn, despite your desire, and the sun will mercilessly scorch the earth in the summer, even if the temperature has already reached 50 degrees. Your anger will not help here. But when you relax, you can accept all the shortcomings of this world, all its worries and benefits, you just need to take off your rose-colored glasses, the world is not perfect, but even in the bad you can find something good if you look closely.
  3. Happiness is unattainable while there is resentment in the heart. And even if the offender is cruel and unfair, only by forgiving him can you begin to move on. Anger, like resentment, is destructive, it burns a person from the inside, and therefore does not give rest and only pushes him into the abyss. Anger does not bring good or good. All that is needed is to let her go, of course, many will decide to take revenge before this, but this only makes sense if you want to repay those who deserve it. For example, it would be much more prudent to imprison a person who has committed a crime than to turn a blind eye to his sins. But to take revenge undeservedly is even worse than to be angry or offended. You hurt an innocent person, and therefore destroy your harmony, your balance.
  4. Try to exclude negativity from the daily "menu". Bad news on TV, angry neighbor, or angry boss, quarrel. It means not just turning around and leaving, but paying less attention to it. The way they yell or get angry, this does not concern you, you yourself know what you are guilty of and what you are not and solve all your shortcomings, but there is no point in accepting the bad energy of the boss.
  5. A spark of hope and goodness can be seen even where, it would seem, it definitely cannot be. Pay attention to things that, although mundane, bring joy and pleasure: a warm bath, hot coffee, autumn leaves, beautifully circling overhead or rain, bringing with it at least just beautiful landscape or rainbow. Of course, big problems - money, family, love - will not go anywhere, but this does not mean that you have to always walk around as a gloomy person. Let now you do not have enough money, but you drink your favorite delicious tea, or eat a delicious dish at this very moment, and this is what is important. Joy from little things sometimes brings relief, that there is joy, and for the whole day there were not only bad moments, but also good ones.
  6. Having accepted and realized all the previous points, start thinking about today. Yesterday was a terrible day, and in three days you will have a difficult exam. But today it has already passed and has not yet come, so why think about it? Make the most of this day, achieve something important, think about an interesting movie, in the end, prepare for this exam, but with positive thoughts. Everything is possible, they can put the exam automatically! And the chance for this is negligible, it still exists. By setting yourself up for the worst possible scenario, you will only increase your anxiety and fear.
  7. "Everything will pass" - a phrase written on the ring of Solomon - one of the wisest people of all time. And she is unfounded. Everything really passes. The day is drawing to a close, the pain can leave a scar, but not remain intact, the original forever, sooner or later the wounds heal, even if they leave a trace in the memory. But still, any difficulties make a person stronger or completely break. You will always have time to try out the second option, so why not try to implement the first one? For any difficulty, immediately think that it will make you stronger, and not that this is a new painful problem.
  8. Sooner or later, a day happens when everything immediately falls like a bulky stone on your fragile shoulders: problems at home, with your loved one, at work, and even on the way your stockings are torn! But, if you run after all the problems at once, then you will not have time for anything. Stop, pour a cup of tea or coffee, sit in a chair and just close your eyes. Throw everything out of your head, feel how the heat of the cup warms your hands, giving you its warmth. Now this cup is on your side, a kind of lifeline from the cold cold of your problems, and tea will help you gather strength and do everything in time.
  9. Problems are different, sometimes it seems that you were deceived, that you were not given the desired happiness, your loved one left or was fired from work. The heart is torn from pain and haunted by the bill for the apartment. But perhaps this is your chance, not your problem? Some trouble is actually a chance eg find more high paying job or meet true love, the one who will appreciate you more than anything in the world, love and protect you. Just learn to accept problems, considering at least both sides of them, both negative and positive. Then they will not be so scary for you.
  10. Life is a game. By taking it absolutely seriously, you only make it harder. Let this expression lead you through life, a difficult conference is on the nose, let it become a race, what if you win?
  11. Think less. If you can’t escape from bad thoughts or you realize that you are winding yourself up more on negativity, then stop thinking, occupy yourself with what fills your thoughts. When it's done, move on to something else. The point is not to think, but to do. And laugh more, negative thoughts turn to dust when they hear the sound of laughter, laugh at problems or at least smile, this will give you the strength to fight.

In addition to all of the above, it is worth emphasizing two more sure ways to improve your perception of the world and find harmony: sports and yoga. Sport helps to produce happiness hormones and normalize health, and yoga is considered the best friend in finding balance and calmness, thanks to it you will learn to readjust and calm down in time even in the most difficult situations.
