How to get a TIN certificate if the number already exists

Citizens are already accustomed to the fact that the fact of their existence in our state must be supported by various documents. If in the recent Soviet past such documents could be counted on the fingers of one hand, now everything looks much more serious. Every year, the system of accounting for taxpayers, their work, deductions made, compliance with declared incomes and much more is being improved.

One of the main documents in recent times can be called a TIN, which must be assigned to every citizen. Now I would like to fully cover all the nuances associated with its receipt. It is also worth talking about how to get the necessary certificate in hand if the number is already there, and the document is lost or not received for personal use.

Why is it needed

The last decade of the 20th century was quite difficult for the population, in social and economic terms. State bodies created an internal accounting structure, adopting the experience of European countries and adapting it to our development conditions. It was in 1993 that the concept of TIN was introduced for private entrepreneurs, a little later in 1995 for legal entities, and already on the eve of 2000 for individuals.

The main task of assigning a TIN was to track the correct deduction of money to the state treasury by the tax authorities. Naturally, a personal number greatly speeds up the process of recording data, checking and searching for information on each specific request.

For legal entities, the TIN is a ten-digit mandatory number that is assigned during registration. TIN for an individual has the form of a twelve-digit number, and according to the law is assigned on a voluntary basis. But if a citizen decides to get a job, then the number is assigned automatically. So the state makes sure that contributions to the tax service, the Pension Fund and other social funds are made on time and in the right amount. Commendable, prudent and comprehensive - this is how this scheme for assigning a personal number can be characterized.

Summarizing the information, we can say that you will have to get a number if:

  • a citizen gets an official job;
  • there is a need for a loan;
  • you need to confirm the right to receive benefits;
  • you need to start your own business.

These are the main life milestones that will require the provision of this document, but, of course, the list cannot be called complete. The certificate issued by the tax authority is quite simple to obtain, and there are several eligible options for claiming the necessary document.

Where to get and where to go

You can get a TIN for individuals using three ways, choosing the best option for yourself. Let's talk about each in detail:

  • for those who are used to doing everything on their own, without relying on third-party persons or technical means, we advise you to contact the department of the Federal Tax Service at the place of registration. You will have to visit an organization where, upon request, they will be registered with the tax authorities, and within 5 days they will issue a certificate certifying this fact;
  • you can get the document online. There are two options to do this properly: go to the tax service portal or use the special State Services website. The processing of personal data takes about 15 days, after which the TIN number itself is received by the citizen in paper or electronic form. The certificate on the State Services website must be sought by going to the section on taxes and fees. If you fill in all the proposed columns correctly, you can get it after the same period of time;
  • the third option is even more prosaic, in which case you will have to use the services of the mail. It is only necessary to comply with some requirements, namely: attach a copy of the passport certified by the current notary, and send the request by registered mail, indicating the return address exactly. It is not necessary that it correspond to the place of registration, the main thing is that the certificate be received in person, at the actual address of residence.

The TIN assignment certificate is issued by the tax authority based on a minimum set of documents. Those who have a passport must submit an application drawn up in a specific form “2-2-Accounting” and a photocopy of an identity document. If a document is required for a citizen who is under 14 years old, then the list of necessary certificates is somewhat longer:

  • a statement drawn up by the parent of a minor citizen;
  • a copy of the document confirming the identity of the parent;
  • a photocopy of the certificate issued at the birth of the child;
  • a copy of the registration issued in the passport office.

The number that is entered in the TIN certificate does not change during life, even if a citizen changes his surname, status or place of residence and registration.

In Moscow, many try to use the Internet to obtain a certificate. It is also important that many working Muscovites already have electronic signatures that help to receive documents without a personal presence on the spot, using registered letters. The only inconvenience is that in case of loss of the document, recovery via the Internet is excluded.

You can get a certificate for the first time absolutely free of charge, re-applying requires paying a state duty of 300 rubles. By the way, a duplicate should be issued, which is completely identical to the original document, but not a copy or photocopy. Pay attention to this when restoring the certificate.

Often there is a situation of such a plan, when the citizen himself did not apply to the tax service on the issue of assigning a personal number, but has it, since he is officially employed. The tax office assigns a number automatically, as mentioned earlier, for more accurate accounting of tax deductions. Therefore, take the trouble to find out in advance on the website of the Federal Tax Service whether the number is really present in the system. If you find one, but do not have paper confirmation on hand, contact the inspection, and your application should be responded to within 5 days, handing it over.

Undoubtedly, the Internet version of requests for obtaining a TIN greatly simplifies the procedure for obtaining it, and also helps to reduce queues at the territorial tax offices.

The warning about accuracy remains relevant. A citizen who does not lose documents can limit himself to the only trip to the tax office in his entire life.

How to get your TIN online via the Internet

An individual taxpayer number, or TIN for short, began to be assigned to all individuals in the Russian Federation since 1999, and to legal entities even earlier - since 1995. Today, the TIN has become an integral part of our life and the tax system of the state. It is thanks to this number, assigned to each individual and legal entity, individual entrepreneur, that the tax office can track whether taxes have been paid.

Our article is devoted to issues related to obtaining this number. We will consider in detail the procedure for obtaining a TIN number in the fastest and most convenient way - via the Internet, while avoiding long and painful queues at the tax office.

Dear readers! The article talks about typical ways to solve legal issues, but each case is individual. If you want to know how solve exactly your problem- contact a consultant:

What is it for?

We have already touched on some aspects of the meaning and necessity of the TIN. Let's look at this in a little more detail. TIN is issued only once and does not change during the life of a person or the activities of the company.

The main purpose of the TIN is to control tax deductions, that is, all taxes and fees are received according to this identification code. This greatly simplifies the procedure for collecting taxes, since the registration of data and the search for information are accelerated several times thanks to a single taxpayer number.

TIN data does not contain personal information. Instead of a huge number of documents, you need to know just one number - twelve-digit for individuals or ten-digit for legal entities.

All the necessary information is encrypted in them, namely:

  • the first two digits are the code of the subject of the Russian Federation;
  • third, fourth - local tax number;
  • from fifth to tenth - immediate unique number;
  • the last digits are control.

For legal entities, the immediate number consists of 5 characters, and the control character is one.

Despite the importance of this document, it is assigned to individuals only on a voluntary basis. This is due to the fact that some people refuse to receive a number due to religious beliefs. Legal entities receive a number without fail during registration. Therefore, further discussion will focus on individuals.

How to find out your TIN online?

If once you have already received a TIN number, but do not know where the issued certificate is located, then it is very easy to find it out online. It can be done on the website of the Federal Tax Service. To do this, go to the official website and select the "Find out your TIN" section in the menu on the right or follow this link. To send a request, you need to fill in the fields - full name, date of birth, series and number of an identity document, and the date of issue. After a few minutes, your number will appear on the screen.

The same service is provided by the public services website.

Please note that this method only works if the TIN has already been assigned to you. What if you want to get it for the first time? This will be discussed in the next section.

How to get a TIN for an individual?

For the first time, the Internet will help you get a TIN without wasting time and unnecessary hassle. What is needed for this? We go to the website of the tax service and in the list of electronic services for individuals we find the section - filing an application for registration by an individual. Here we fill out the application form, you need to carefully enter all personal data in it. Carefully check all the entered information, typos or errors are unacceptable. Be sure to include your phone number and email address.

In a response email, they will write to you the address of the tax service, its working hours, and the time to apply for a TIN. Your request may take up to 15 days to process. If you have an electronic signature, then you can receive an electronic version of the TIN certificate or pick up a registered letter by mail. If you do not have one, then you will have to go to the tax office located at the place of residence or at the place of stay. This can be done either in person, or it can be done by a proxy.

There is another site where you can send a request for a TIN - the government portal. The procedure is similar there, the only difference is the need for pre-registration on the portal. In the taxes and fees section you will find a form to fill out.

Once again about the step-by-step receipt of the TIN - in the following video:

Making a certificate for children

As for obtaining a certificate for a child under 14, it can be issued by legal representatives - usually parents. This is done in the same way with adults, with the exception of one nuance - the child should be listed as the applicant, not the representative. On the website of the tax service, exactly the same application is filled out as described above. There is also a request tracking service.

After receiving a passport, the child can already independently apply for a certificate.

The process of recovering a TIN via the Internet

If your TIN certificate has been lost or lost, you can apply for a reissue of the certificate. Unfortunately, it is impossible to restore the TIN via the Internet. This is another reason why you need to be very careful about your documents and not lose them. If, nevertheless, the certificate is lost, then the application must be submitted in person, through mail or a representative.

Be sure to include proof of payment with your application. In addition, you must have a passport or other document proving your identity and proof of registration at the place of residence. If you prefer to act through a representative, you must also provide a copy of the power of attorney for an individual.

Duplicate is issued within 5 working days from the date of receipt by the relevant authority of the application for its extradition. You can pick it up in person or by a representative. If you do not appear for the certificate, the tax office will send it to you by registered mail.

The advantage of applying online

The main advantage is, of course, time. You save your precious minutes, which you can spend with benefit, instead of standing at the office of the tax inspectorate. Yes, if you do not have an electronic signature, like most residents of the Russian Federation, then you will have to go to the tax office once. As practice shows, it takes no more than 10 minutes: you call the request number, present your passport or power of attorney, and they bring you a ready-made certificate.

An additional advantage is that you can correct a typo in the form in an electronic request, a paper version of the application does not give such a chance. And one more thing - you track the progress of your request and its processing. When you come to pick up a certificate, you will not hear the phrase: “it is not ready yet.”

Thus, we told you about the possibilities of the Internet when obtaining a TIN. We hope that our article has helped you save time and get rid of bureaucratic red tape.

According to the current legislation, individuals must pay mandatory payments in the form of taxes, report on certain forms, etc. In the tax office, each person is assigned a unique identification number, according to which he is in it as a taxpayer. How to get a TIN for an individual? For the first time, you can get a TIN via the Internet, or by directly contacting the IFTS or MFC.

What is a TIN and why is it needed?

TIN is the number of identification of taxpayers, which is assigned to them by the relevant authority, and is reflected in the certificate issued to them in their hands.

At present, it is assigned to every citizen, and this is carried out even in early childhood, if children become payers of such mandatory payments.

The initiator of the appropriation can be both the citizens themselves or their representatives, and the tax authorities.

This identification number for an individual consists of twelve digits:

  • The first two reflect the number of the region in which the certificate is issued, the next - the number of the tax authority that issued it.
  • The numbers 5-10 reflect the immediate number of the taxpayer.
  • The remaining two last digits reflect the checksum by which the TIN is checked.

TIN is affixed in all payment documents for which taxes are paid by an individual. According to this number, the tax authorities keep records, accrue and receive mandatory payments.

Individuals can receive information on property taxes, personal income tax only if they know their TIN.

Despite the fact that the TIN certificate is not in the mandatory list of documents that must be provided when applying for a job, a copy of it is often asked to be given by the personnel of the company.

What documents are needed for TIN

It is possible to obtain a TIN in the general manner at the IFTS at the place of permanent residence. To do this, you can order a TIN via the Internet, apply by mail, or bring a package of documents to the tax or MFC in person.

When sending documents by mail, copies of documents must first be certified by a notary.

If at the time of receipt of this certificate a person does not have a permanent residence permit, then the certificate is issued at the address of his temporary location or at the location of his property.

How to get a TIN for an individual

An individual can obtain a TIN in various ways.

How to get a TIN via the Internet

This method makes it possible not to stand in line, and send an application for extradition at any time of the day or night. Currently, there are two ways to issue a TIN using the Internet - on the website of the Federal Tax Service or through the State Services portal.

These options differ in design and procedure, but in practice they provide two opportunities to apply and receive a form:

  • If a citizen does not have an enhanced electronic signature, it is necessary to register on the site using an email address (or SNILS) and a password. For the Gosulugi portal, it will still be necessary to pass an identity confirmation in the manner prescribed by it. After that, in your personal account you will need to specify personal data, information about your passport and registration, contacts. The generated application for extradition can be sent to the Federal Tax Service in this way, but it will be possible to receive it only in person with the provision of original documents.
  • If a citizen has an enhanced electronic signature, then it is necessary to prepare an encrypted request using a special program and send it to the Federal Tax Service. The completed form can be received by registered mail or in an electronic PDF file certified by a qualified electronic signature of the tax service.

Obtaining a TIN at the MFC

Recently, it has become available to issue a TIN through the multifunctional centers (MFC) "My Documents". At the same time, you can contact the institution both personally and through your authorized representative. The process of obtaining the form enters the “One window” mode, which means that all the necessary procedures can be performed on the spot with one operator.

However, not all multifunctional centers perform this operation to obtain a tax identification number for an individual. Check this information with your MFC.

The following documents must be submitted to the MFC:

  • The passport;
  • Registration document (if temporary registration is issued);
  • Form for issuing a document form No. 2-2-Accounting (you can fill out at the MFC or bring a ready-made one with you).

In the case when it is not possible to come to the MFC on your own, a trusted representative can apply there. However, he must have a notarized power of attorney with him, which will indicate the right to draw up and receive documents.

The MFC will inform you about the readiness of the TIN in an SMS message sent to your phone. You will need to get the document here.

Obtaining a TIN at the Federal Tax Service (personal appeal)

To apply for and receive a TIN form through a tax office, you must have two documents:

  • A completed application in the form No. 2-2-Accounting;
  • Passport or other proof of identity.

The application form can be obtained from the tax office, downloaded from the Internet and filled out by hand, or you can use one of the special programs for preparing the document. When filling in manually, all data must be entered without errors, one character in one cell, while using a blue, purple or black pen.

When the Federal Tax Service appears in person, copies of documents do not need to be certified. An employee of the Federal Tax Service upon receipt will check them with the originals and return them.

After registration, the TIN form can be received personally or by a representative in the Federal Tax Service, or by registered mail.

TIN production time and state duty amount

After all the necessary documents have been submitted to the tax authority, the state agency must comply with the deadlines established by law for issuing a document. Usually, the TIN issuance period is 5 days.. After this period, the tax employee must hand over the certificate or send it by registered mail. The actual time depends on the tax - some IFTS issue the requested document within 20-30 minutes.

10/06/2017 Continuation of the history of obtaining the first TIN for the son. Today we arrived at the tax office (Sivashskaya, 5) at 9:45. Yesterday on the site I signed up for 10:00 (a guarantee that you will definitely be accepted until 10:30). Having received the coupon, they immediately saw an invitation on the scoreboard. Accepted and checked. No consent to data processing was required, as in the MFC, a photocopy of the passport was returned to us. We looked at the verification of the application, and that's it. I did not have time to blink an eye: “Everything is in order! We are waiting for you next Friday! ALL. So, reconsider your position on the ease of obtaining a TIN at the MFC. I generally felt fear from the ladies in the MFC. They are simply afraid to work with the TIN! But negative emotions from the MFC remained! Still, there should not be SUCH UNPROFESSIONALISM!

YOU WRITE WRONG: “Attention! The positive side of issuing a TIN through the MFC is that an employee of the center can independently draw up an application for issuing a number, or check the submitted form for errors. Currently, the MFC is the most convenient option for obtaining a taxpayer identification number.” 10/05/2017, at about 11:50 - WINDOW No. 9. st. Academician Volgin, 25, building 1. Disgusting service! We came to submit documents to obtain the first TIN for our son. I called +7 (495) 777-77-77 in advance. Found out that you can do it at the above address. In the rain we packed up and left. For us, it's not close. In the window, everything stopped at the moment when I asked what to write in the column “Type of identity document (code)” of two numbers. The girl said that she did not know the passport code. A lady jumped up, stood behind the girl and began to enlighten us: “We have no right to help while filling out the forms!” Friends! Then explain, WHY TO MIDDLE CITIZENS AND PROMISE THEM THAT THEY CAN GET TIN WITHOUT PROBLEMS THROUGH THE MFC (KONKOVO DISTRICT)?! I chose the MFC, not the tax office, after reading these, as it turned out, untrue words: “Attention! The positive side of issuing a TIN through the MFC is that an employee of the center can independently draw up an application for issuing a number, or check the submitted form for errors. Currently, the MFC is the most convenient option for obtaining a taxpayer identification number.” The lady behind the girl said: “Do you know that at the tax office they will immediately give you a TIN, and here you will have to wait for 9! days! And if you make a mistake in the papers, your documents will be returned back!” Here is the "BEST OPTION" for you! UGLINESS! Lost precious time!! We left with our son, upset, WITH NOTHING! I didn’t pay attention to whether there were “smilies” there so that I could click on the button (press, but I should have!

Good afternoon, Lyudmila! Unfortunately, not all MFCs have qualified employees. Alas. We're sorry you didn't have any luck with your MFC. The fact that the production time is longer, yes. But the same thing happens in the tax field.

Hello, I live in Tver, registered in the region. Is it possible to make a TIN not at the place of registration, that is, in Tver? And what needs to be done for this?

Good afternoon, Arina! Yes, since 2017, the TIN can be obtained not at the place of registration, i.e. for you it is in Tver. You must contact the nearest tax office and submit the required package of documents - it is indicated in the article. You will be registered at the place of residence.

On the site tax.ru there is a section "get an inn" pay a state duty of 300 rubles. right there on the site. Fill in the fields with your data. Choose the branch of the city in which you want to get the TIN. And click submit. You receive an email with an invitation, address and work schedule. Print out the receipt and go to get the document. Don't forget your passport. Very convenient and without queues and paperwork.

The Inn number is in the passport in the form of a stamp. When applying for a driver's card, they refused to accept documents, they demand the original form of the TIN and a scan from the passport with the TIN number they say that they will not give a ride. Are they right?

Good afternoon, Rinat! Who is "they"? Usually, upon receipt of any documents, you must provide the original document or its photocopy. The stamp in the passport is not a document, but in fact, a reminder of the number.

But on the tax service hotline they say that the stamp in the passport with the TIN number has the same legal force as the TIN certificate itself. Order number BG-3-09/215 dated April 2, 2002. Unclear.

Hello! If the TIN number does not change when changing the surname, does it mean that it does not need to be re-registered with the tax office?

Good afternoon Sophie! Yes, you don't. The number is yours for the rest of your life. By and large, when changing a surname, for example, when getting married, tax information will be received through internal channels of communication with departments. It turns out that the change of surname will happen automatically. If you need to do it faster and you need a new form, with a new name, then you need to contact the tax office.

Hello! I live abroad! Not registered in Russia. I am on the consular register. Can I get a TIN abroad? Thanks

Good afternoon, Ivan! TIN can only be obtained from the tax office in the Russian Federation.

Hello, tell me please. Registration - Sergiev Posad district, I live in Solnechnogorsk. Is it possible to apply to the local MFC to issue a TIN, or is it necessary to go to the MFC at the place of registration?

Good afternoon, Tatyana! At this time, MFCs do not issue a TIN. You need to contact the tax office. If there is a Federal Tax Service in Solnechnogorsk, contact there.

Hello! To obtain a TIN via the Internet, on the website of public services, the stanza of the compulsory pension insurance number is required to be filled out. I am a citizen of the LPR, I have temporary registration in the Russian Federation, but there is no pension insurance. When visiting the tax office in person, you can do without pension insurance. Can I bypass this box?

Good afternoon, Maxim! If you apply to the tax office, then the SNILS number is not required. But registering on the State Services website without SNILS will not work.

Tell me, please, can a foreign citizen who has a residence permit receive a TIN not at registration, but at any tax authority?

Good afternoon, Olga! You can get a TIN only at the place of registration.

Please tell me if, upon receipt of the Inn, I was registered in the region (15 years ago) and now I live in the city and is registered in the city, do I need to change the Inn? Or does this number always remain, at work they say that it is necessary that the Inn number matches the registration

Good afternoon Julia! When changing registration, the TIN number will not change, since it is assigned to a person for life. Even when changing the surname, the number will not change, only the surname in the document.

If there is a number and I didn’t receive a certificate, what operations do I need to perform to pick it up?

Good afternoon, Artyom! You need to contact your tax office.

TIN for an individual cannot be obtained via the Internet. It can be obtained ONLY in person at the tax office. Wrong information spread on the site.

Good afternoon, Valery! You are mistaken, the TIN can be obtained through the taxpayer's personal account. If there is a completed electronic signature, then the TIN can be sent to you by mail. However, obtaining an EDS just to make a TIN does not make sense. You can also fill out an application on the tax website, and get the form directly from the tax office if there is no electronic signature. The article contains a link to the tax page, where all this is described. Therefore, the information is correct.

The MFC TIN refused to do it. They said you need to go personally to the tax office. The information on the site is incorrect.

at work, they repeatedly require the TIN that was provided to them when they started working. is it fair

Good afternoon, Victor! The TIN does not apply to the documents that the employee is required to provide to the employer upon employment. Therefore, you have the right not to bring it, a number is enough. However, if you do not want to quarrel, then it is better to bring them a copy of the document.

How to get a certificate if the TIN number already exists?

To confirm your identity on the territory of the Russian Federation, you need a passport, on the basis of which you can find out the necessary information about a person. In turn, a document on registration as a taxpayer is required when applying for a job, concluding a transaction, therefore, every citizen should know how to obtain a TIN certificate if the number is already there if it is lost.

An identification tax number was introduced for individual entrepreneurs in 1993, and only since the beginning of 2000 it began to be assigned to all residents of Russia engaged in labor activities in the territory of the Russian Federation. The main purpose of the TIN is to control the accrual and payment of mandatory payments to the state budget.

When is a certificate required?

The tax identification number for individuals consists of 12 digits. According to the current legislation, the registration procedure is carried out voluntarily. When applying for a job, the number will be assigned automatically. With the help of the TIN, the state monitors deductions to the Federal Tax Service, the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation and other funds.

A taxpayer identification number may be needed in the following situations:

  • registration of a loan, a loan for the purchase of housing;
  • apparatus employed;
  • doing business;
  • receiving social benefits.

In such situations, a certificate of assignment of a TIN is required. The procedure for its provision is not complicated and can be performed in various ways - through the website of the State Services, the Federal Tax Service, a representative, the MFC, the Russian Post and during a personal visit to the tax office.

How to get a duplicate certificate

The tax identification number is assigned once throughout life and cannot be replaced. In case of loss, theft of a certificate, you must contact the Federal Tax Service at the place of residence in one of the following ways:

  • Submit a request to the tax authority in person and provide: passport, with registration information; payment document for the payment of state duty.
  • Send documents by registered mail: application; identity card with registration stamp; receipt for the amount of 300 rubles.
  • Make a request through an official representative: passport with data on the place of residence; a power of attorney certified by a notary; payment of the mandatory fee.
  • Submit an application to the MFC: a passport with a registration mark and a copy of it, a receipt for paying the state duty (300 rubles). The request is made when visiting a specialized center by its employee. To obtain a certificate, you will have to visit the MFC on the appointed day again.

  • Send a request through the Internet portal of the Federal Tax Service, submitting the necessary documents: an application, an identity card, registration data, a payment for state duty. Upon receipt of the certificate, you will need to present the originals of the listed papers and their copies.
  • Submit an application on the State Services website. The TIN is issued at the place of residence of an individual within 5 working days after the application is submitted.

You can get information about the taxpayer identification number in case of loss of the certificate online using the website of the tax authority. To do this, follow simple steps:

  • go to the FTS portal,
  • open the section "Find out your TIN",
  • fill in the lines - date of birth, initials, passport data.
  • After 1-2 minutes, a unique number will be displayed on the computer monitor.

Obtaining a certificate at the place of temporary residence

Since 2012, on the basis of the relevant order, it has become possible to issue a TIN in any subject of Russia. If a citizen wishes to receive a unique taxpayer number not at the place of registration, he has the right to apply to any territorial branch of the Federal Tax Service without permanent registration. The tax office will not be able to refuse such a request.

The procedure for obtaining a certificate in another city is no different from drawing up a document for a permanent residence permit. For registration you will need:

  • visit the IFTS at the place of stay;
  • provide an identity card, its photocopy;
  • application (most tax inspectorates draw it up on their own based on the documents submitted);
  • receive a certificate in 5 working days.

When moving to a permanent place of residence in another region, it is not required to change the TIN, it is valid throughout the country.

A change of surname after the conclusion of a marriage union cannot serve as a basis for the compulsory issuance of a new certificate; a citizen does this on his own initiative, in his own interests. The state duty is not provided, since the reissuance of the document is carried out out of necessity, and not because of its loss.

Video: Registration with the tax office in Russia.

An identification tax number can be assigned to each resident of the Russian Federation. To obtain it, you need to visit the Federal Tax Service at the place of permanent residence or temporary stay. Since 2012, a Russian citizen can issue a certificate in any region of the country, regardless of the presence of permanent registration.

The TIN is re-issued upon application, in the presence of a passport and its copy, a receipt for payment of the state duty. Initial registration is free of charge, as is the replacement of a certificate when changing a surname.

How to get a TIN certificate if the number already exists?

TIN (individual identification number) was developed for the system of accounting for all tax payers, labor contributions of all working citizens, their full compliance with the specified income, etc.

Therefore, it is necessary to know all the subtleties of its issuance. It should be discussed how to obtain a TIN certificate if the number already exists, but the document itself is missing or has been lost.

Why do you need a TIN?

Initially, the TIN was introduced for private entrepreneurs back in 1993. Later, in 1995, it began to be assigned to legal entities, and only at the end of 1999 - to ordinary citizens.

The assignment of a TIN is necessary for the tax authorities to control the deductions of funds to the state treasury.

The presence of an individual number greatly facilitates the recording of data, the procedure for searching and verifying information on any request.

TIN for legal entities is a number of ten characters, which is issued individually at the time of registration. TIN for individuals includes twelve digits, is assigned on a voluntary basis. When applying for a job, the TIN will be issued automatically. Thus, the state takes care of the amount and timeliness of contributions to the Pension Fund, the tax service, and other social funds.

The need to assign a number:

  • to receive a loan;
  • at the time of employment in an official job;
  • to start your own business;
  • in order to confirm the rights to accrual of benefits.

In such and other situations, this certificate will be required without fail. The very procedure for issuing a document by a tax authority is considered quite easy and can be done in several ways.

Where to get and where to go?

The initial receipt of a TIN is quite simple.

  1. With the help of the Internet. Visit the dedicated site public services» or use the portal of the tax service. In the latter case, the processing of personal data takes 15 days. The TIN can be issued in electronic or paper form. Below is an instruction on how to find out your TIN at the State Services.
  2. Appeal to the branch of the Federal Tax Service at the place of registration. This method is suitable for those who prefer to do everything on their own, without the support of technical means or outsiders. You will need to personally contact the organization and become tax registered. After 5 days, it will be possible to pick up a document confirming this fact.
  3. As a result of the use of postal services. For this purpose, you will need to send a special request by registered mail, which will include the return address. It will be necessary to attach a notarized document to it - a copy of the passport. In order to receive a response, it is not necessary to indicate the address of registration. To do this, it is enough to clarify your own place of residence, where it will be possible to personally receive the document.

The issuance of a special certificate, which will confirm the assignment of a TIN, is carried out by the tax authority if a minimum list of documents is available. With a passport, you need to submit an application, which will be drawn up in accordance with such a form as "2-2-Accounting". In addition, you will also need to attach a copy of the document that can confirm your identity. In the case of obtaining a certificate by a person who has not yet reached the age of 14, the list of papers will be much more extensive.

  • a copy of the child's birth certificate;
  • statement made by the parents;
  • a copy of registration provided in the passport office;
  • a copy of the document certifying the identity of the parent.

How to get a TIN if the number is already available through the State Services

Let's look at how to get a TIN certificate if the number already exists (i.e., again). On the website of the State Services, you need to log in to your personal account of the State Services (if the account has not been created before, then you need to go through the registration procedure).

  • Next, on the main page of the site, open the section " Public Services». The page will be updated and a list of all services will be displayed, where we select " All services".

Then click on the arrow at Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation" => « The Federal Tax Service" and below will appear " Find out your TIN » .

Loss is not a cause for concern

The TIN certificate indicates a special number that will remain unchanged throughout the life of a citizen, even in the event of a change in surname, place of residence, registration or status.

How to get a TIN certificate if the number already exists? Of course, using the Internet. Many working Muscovites have an electronic signature. This simplifies the task, it becomes possible to receive documents using registered letters without a personal presence on the spot. The disadvantage of this method is that it is impossible to restore the document if it is lost.

For the first time, this certificate is issued completely free of charge, and in case of repeated application, it will be necessary to pay a state duty in the amount of 300 rubles. When restoring it, you should pay attention that not a photocopy should be issued, but a duplicate, which will be completely identical to the original certificate.

In life, there are often cases when officially working citizens have never personally applied to the tax service regarding the assignment of a TIN. At the time of employment, this number is automatically assigned to them by the tax service.

You can find out on the website of the Federal Tax Service about the existence of a number of a certain person in the system. If the TIN is registered, but there is no paper confirmation, then you must contact the inspection to receive it. Representatives of the tax authorities must respond to an appeal in the form of an application with a request to hand it over within 5 days.

It is quite natural that as a result of using the Internet version, the procedure for obtaining a TIN is greatly simplified and queues at tax offices are significantly reduced. In order to avoid problems, it is necessary to try not to lose these documents, because then an additional visit to the tax service will not be required.
