My wife made me buy this vertical grill in an online store; for a long time I couldn’t understand why it was needed at all. It turns out that not everything is so bad. Makes kebabs from eggs, you can add chopped pieces of sausage and you get an excellent snack. The main thing is that it all takes about 5 minutes to prepare. I even tried experimenting with chicken. Hello. Review of an interesting but niche device. The product is not new, but for some reason there was no review here. I personally see this for the first time.
The device arrived in a box, slightly dented.


Auxiliary accessories are included - a brush for cleaning, a masher which is convenient for spreading oil on the walls (no one has heard of the recommended oleum spray in our area).
Wooden sticks for removing the product from the frying container.


The body of the device is made of plastic. In the middle there is a circular silicone pad with pimples. There are two indicators on the body - red and green,


a connector for a power cord of a fairly common type (cord length 105 cm) and a switch.

Frying takes place in a narrow aluminum cylinder coated with a non-stick layer. The depth of the frying container is 17.5 cm, diameter 3 cm. I removed it immediately after use, as you can see, the non-stick layer works, there is nothing on the walls except droplets of oil. The dimensions of the device itself are 25x8.5x8.5 cm, weight 0.9 kg.


At the bottom there is a label with electrical characteristics. I got 210 watts of power at a voltage of 215 volts. There is no such voltage in the network, even during peak hours, at least 229 volts. Therefore, the range of real power measured by a wattmeter was 230-255 watts.

An interesting design element is a rather powerful spring. The frying cylinder does not contact the plastic walls; it is pressed by a spring to the neck of the device and is thereby fixed inside. Thanks to this, the walls of the device do not heat up too much and you can handle it with your bare hand when it comes time to remove the product.


The operating principle of the device is simple. It contains a thermostat with a bimetallic plate, designed to turn off at a temperature of 180 degrees (measured with an IR thermometer). Heating time for an empty container is 1 minute. 45 sec. When the device heats up, the red indicator lights up, when the thermostat activates when it reaches 180 degrees, the green indicator lights up. The thermostat contacts close back when the frying container cools to 106 degrees. The empty container cools to this temperature in about 12 minutes. Heating of the product continues, depending on the quantity, from 2 to 3 minutes, the rest of the time the heat treatment is carried out due to the accumulated heat.

How to operate the device?.. The simplest recipe is frying whole eggs. Connect to the network. Wait until the green indicator lights up, pour in 0.5 ml - 1 ml of oil; if you have oil in the form of a spray, it will of course be more convenient. Spread the butter onto the sides using the masher provided. Pour in two eggs. The red indicator will light up again and after 2-3 minutes it will turn green again. But it says that the grill has heated up to 180 degrees, and not that the product has cooked. Here you need to wait another 2 minutes, and as a result you will have beautiful eggs in a bag, but without shells and in the form of a sausage. There is no need to stick the stick in; the food easily crawls out of the cylinder with a gentle shake. If you wait longer, you'll end up with a hard-boiled egg, but that's okay.




When preparing dishes using a grill, it is highly not recommended to shake the egg; when shaking, it becomes saturated with air bubbles, which, when frying, push the half-baked product out of the grill and the result is something like the indecency shown in the video.

If you carefully mix the egg, it turns out quite well. But there is a drawback: the top does not have time to set and already goes beyond the grill. Here you need to hold the product, and this is no longer an easy preparation, and if you are making a roll with sausage, the latter should not be completely immersed in the egg, but made so that it protrudes about three centimeters.




On the contrary, a whole egg is not even going to come out of the grill. And this is good, the protein is set from all sides, you can make a soft-boiled egg without a shell.

If you treat the device under review as a kitchen machine that can do only one basic operation, like a toaster, electric kettle, or egg boiler, then the subject is no worse than them. In terms of the convenience of preparing a whole egg, it is superior to an egg boiler; you only need to do 2 operations - disperse the oil with a masher, break 1-2 eggs, pour into the grill. There is enough oil for 2 bookmarks. Since a whole egg does not pop out of the grill, you need to cook it on a timer - after 5 minutes you get an egg in a bag. Ready-made eggs can hardly be called fried, they are still closer to boiled. And most importantly, when consumed, there is no more fuss with the shell. But the less similar the recipe is to the basic one, the more difficult it will be to get what you want. Hence the negative reviews from users trying to make various pancakes, or even kebab, in the sub. Considering the temperature conditions described above, it is not designed for this.

My opinion after disposing of a cell with 30 eggs. The only thing that can be grilled with reproducible quality is whole eggs. True, in this case we do not see the performance. In order for the product to be effectively pushed out, the egg needs to be stirred, but not shaken (I’m just now understanding the meaning of James Bond’s words). The sausage or sausage should not be placed in the middle, but on the contrary, try to ensure that it comes into contact with the walls,


then it will be at least a little fried, otherwise we will only get a warm sausage. All other recipes are more a product of marketing than actually feasible in the proper quality.

Another point related to the design is that the condition of the frying container is difficult to assess without additional lighting, so it’s impossible without a flashlight.
About washing. I haven’t washed it even once, I don’t see the point, it’s a grill. not a saucepan. The only thing I do is wipe the neck of the remaining egg. There is nothing left in the flask itself except droplets of oil.
If you use the device for its intended purpose, and do not try to fry shish kebab in it, then it is no worse than the same toaster. The only thing missing is a simple timer, at least for a fixed time of 5 minutes, which would ring to warn the owner. But this is not necessary, I have 3 of these timers in the kitchen.
